Central Florida Community College Distinguished Alumni Award

Criteria and Process:

Van McKenzieThe Central Florida Community College (CFCC) Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes and promotes outstanding students who have attended CFCC. It also promotes the Alumni Association in addition to encouraging goodwill between the college and noted alumni. In addition, the Alumni Association may submit one candidate each for an FACC Distinguished Alumni Award (State Recognition) and AACC Distinguished Alumni Award (National Recognition), usually from this pool of candidates each year.

Each nominee should be a program completer (certificate or associate degree) or have completed at least one year at the college, and who has made a substantial contribution to the arts, his/her profession, public service, sports or some other significant area or whose life has been enriched in a meaningful way by CFCC.

To be considered for the Distinguished Alumni Award the candidate cannot be a sitting Board of Trustee, Alumni Board member or Foundation Board member.

Considerations for nominees include:

  • Professional accomplishments
  • Personal contributions
  • Relevance of community college experience
  • Civic activities and contributions
  • Public appeal

Anyone wishing to nominate someone, please contact 352-873-5808 or alumni@cf.edu.
